Cortexa
Cortexa launches their new Intuitive Graphical User Interface
Cortexa sought out Pixo to design a new interface for their home automation system as well as to redevelop the backend technology stack. On completion, usability tests showed that users 12 to 78 years old were able to intuitively operate the new interface and the system now seemlessly integrates with all leading home automation devices.
Challenge
The challenge was to create a new Cortexa which would be a full player in the Web 2.0 era and to design an easy-to-use, fun-to-drive interface for their home automation system.
Solution
Pixo re-architected the product back-end by rewriting the Unix/BSD underpinnings. We streamlined the build/make system and authored device drivers to enable Cortexa to integrate with the latest home automation components and mobile devices. We also collaborated with the iPhone developer to launch a powerful iPhone application.
